PREPARATION
(I) Pawpaw leaf meal
The fresh leaves are washed and rinsed
before spreading them down for dryness.
The fresh leaves are set to dry with air
not sun to prevent them from losing crucial minerals.
These are then pounded into powder which is the PLM
Dosage : 50g of this powder is added to 25kg bag of their feeds from 2 weeks of age.
(ii) Juice
Meat birds : 20ml of the juice is used per liter of clean drinking water for 5 days.
Laying birds : 20ml of the juice and a teaspoon of lime are used per 3 litres of clean drinking water for 2 days in a week for hens of 16 weeks of age and above.
